Complimentary activities include snorkeling on the reef outside the resort, kayaking, volleyball. Jungle walk, Table tennis, chess. Kava nights, singing and dancing.

Every afternoon Volleyball takes place around 4pm. Join the locals on the court for fun times and lots of laughter. Recommended is the guided jungle walk which operates daily, hike above the resort, trekking through tropical rainforest , see amazing 360 degree vistas. Your guide will teach you all about the different plants and their medicinal properties.

Voted repeatedly by Scuba Diver magazine as one of the top 10 dive sites in the world.

The Somo somo straight situated between Vanua Levu and Taveuni offers spectacular scuba diving. Inside the strait are an abundance of soft corals in every colour imaginable. Diving is year round. Discover an under water wonderland with corals as big as trees, a vast array of tropical fish, eels, anenomes, reef sharks and turtles,

Snorkeling

Taveuni is famous for its amazing  underwater world and the snorkeling at Maqai is truly spectacular. Here you will see a wide variety of corals and tropical fish. Snorkel the local reefs out front of the resort or take a boat trip to the outer reefs where you will be amazed . Cabbage patch a 20 minute boat ride away is truly magnificent and Black rock is an awesome snorkeling adventure.

Snorkel and Island Picnic

Spend a half day snorkeling with your guide relax under the coconut palms on a stunning beach whist your guide spears fish and prepares lunch for you.

Local Village Visits

Take time out to visit the neighbouring village of Naivivi. Meet the locals, visit the school or kindergarten and talk over a cup of tea and cake with the local villagers. Learn about Fijian culture, maybe have a game of rugby or volleyball or simply relax with the locals. Purchase some home made tapa cloth, and bags or if time allows order a traditional custom made kava bowl.

Traditional weaving or bracelet making

Learn the art of traditional weaving with an activity guide. Make a basket or traditional broom or whatever you can dream up.

Bouma Falls Visit and Adventure Trip

This is a must see and do full day trip. Starts at the amazing Bouma Falls located on the eastern side of Taveuni. Here you’ll trek in a remarkable heritage park with 3 incredible waterfalls. Take your swim costume and dare to jump the falls! Next is the Waitavala natural water slide carved into the rocks and finish with lunch at Tromontos Pizzeria overlooking the blue waters of Somosomo straight. This is a fantastic day trip for children and adults alike.

Chartered Fishing

Our local fishing guide Leslie has lived and fished around Qamea for many years. He will take you to all his secret fishing spots. Try you hand at Jigging and Popping or trolling
